緑内障誘発試験の意義

Significance of the Provocative Tests in Glaucoma

I．緒言

　半世紀来，緑内障診断にいろいろな誘発試験（一名，負荷試験）が考按され実施されているが，自然に起こる性質の眼圧上昇が誘発されることが前提条件である。すなわちそれにより，頻回の眼圧測定を節約し，緑内障の疑われる患者の観察期間の短縮を意図している。この前提条件は従来厳密に検討されたことがなく，そのため緑内障誘発試験の診断的意義を疑う識者すらいる状態である。この問題を，多数の初期単性緑内障患者について，次のごとく二つの面から検討してみた。

The provocative tests for glaucoma have em-pirically been developed and are performed in the assumption that they provoke the possible rise of IOP which might occur spontaneously. This assumption has not, however, been exa-mined exactly so that there are even authors who disregard the value of these tests. In the present paper, this problem is discussed from two different viewpoints.

1. A total of 100 eyes with incipient simple glaucoma have been studied by at least 3 of the 5 provocative tests (priscol, water-dringk-ing, darkroom, mydriasis and caffeine test).
