緒言
フーコーテスト（Foucault Test）を眼球光学系に応用する試みを私どもは1973年に発表した（第9回日本眼・光学学会，本誌28巻10号）。当時の装置は初歩的なものであつたが，その後種々改良を加えて新たに実験を試みた。新装置の特徴を中心に簡単に報告する。
A new instrument for the Foucault knifeedge test of the eye was manufactured.
The image of a light source was projected on ocular fundus by means of two condensers and two half mirrors. The photograph of the Foucault-shadow on the surface of the cornea was taken with Nikon-F camera with bellows attachment and 200mm/4 lens through the half mirror.
The knife edge cutting of the ray from the eye was performed by a plate located in front of the camera lens.
In front of the eye an adequate lens was attached to correct the influence of the ame-tropia in each eye.
