抗生物質によるベーチェット病の治療

Systemic Tetracycline Derivatives in the Treatment of Behcet's Disease

緒言

　ベーチェット病の病因については，ウイルス説^1）〜4），細菌説^〓，アレルギー^6）7）ないしは自己免疫説^〓，あるいは膠原病の範疇に入れる考え方^9）など諸説があり，したがつてその治療に関しても，ありとあらゆる薬剤が試みられてきたといつても過言ではない。

　抗生物質は過去勢力的に使用された時期もあつたが，その効果については疑問視されたまま現在に至つている。はたしてベーチェット病にはすべての抗生物質が無効なのであろうか。著者はさきにテトラサイクリン系の抗生物質で，効果が期待できそうであることを述べた^10）が，その後の症例を加えてここに報告する。

Eight cases of Behcet's disease are described in whom a febrile episode was regularly follow-ed by attacks of hypopyon iritis one to three days later. The fever was usually moderate ranging from 37.0° to 38.0℃ but was occasi-onally more outspoken. The body temperature regularly returned to normal level after the onset of the iritis. The findings seemed to in-dicate that a rise in body temperature without any other apparent cause may serve as a wa-rning sign of intraocular infammatory attack which will occur one to four days later.
