Malformative Syndrome with Cryptophthalmla

緒言

　Cryptophthalmos，潜在眼球とは，眼瞼および瞼裂を欠き，眼窩口は前額部より上顎部に至る連続した皮膚により覆われ，眼窩内に発育異常な眼球の潜在するものをいう。1872年Zehender，Manz^1）が第1例を報告して以来世界的には約50例の報告があるといわれる^2）が，実際にはもつと多いものであろう。事実，本邦だけでも1911年大西^3）の第1例以来今日まで18の報告で21例^4）〜20）を数えるほどである。しかし単眼症などと較べてもきわめてまれな先天異常であることは確かである。表題のmalformative syndrome with cry—ptophthalmiaとは1965年François^21）が（1）潜在眼球，（2）頭蓋骨や顔面の奇形，（3）合指症，（4）性器奇形，の四主徴をもつて一つの症候群と見なし，これを命名したものである。このたび著者は本症候群の1例に遭遇し，臨床的な観察とともに組織学的検索を行なう機会にも恵まれ，2,3の知見を得たのでここに報告する。

　生後間もない典型的なCryptophthalmosの完全な1個の眼球が手に入つたのは，わが国ではもちろん初めてのことで，世界的にもほとんどその例を見ない。

This is the tirst report in Japan. The patient was 7-month-old girl associated with widespread congenital anomalies elsewhere in the body.

2. Complete cryptophthalmos was observed on left eye, and incomplete on the other.

3. The left hidden eyeball was bicystic and its deeper part was identified to be the eye proper, on the other hand the larger part which was the cyst, was not a colobomatous cyst but an enlarged lens itself.
