緒言

　老人性白内障の薬物治療は，現在カタリン，ファコリジン，シネラリア，グルタチオン，チオラ，パロチン等である。そしてこれら製剤による治療効果について多くの報告があるが，著者らはその治療効果の面で必ずしも満足すべきものではないことから，その理由について検討した。

The authors attempted to decide the effect of medicinal treatments upon senile cataract. It is concluded that the proceses of senile cataract formation were divided into two developmen-tal courses and both primarily were not caused up by chemical inhibitor or protein denaturator.

The distribution of enzymes, LDH, SDH, glu-cose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and so on, in the lens was approached by spectrophotometric determination of coenzymes. These results sug-gested that senile cataract formation was not related to the activity of these enzymes.
