  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

This is a report on two cases of new pattern of the flecked retina. Two cases were bothJapanese males, aged 58 and 32 years. One case had positive consanguinity and the other negative and no familial occurrence was found in both subjects. The posterior pole of each fundus showed innumerable glistening yellow-ish-white tiny flecks which were various sizes and shapes. Brightly glistening flecks appeared like cholesterol crystals or twinkling stars. These flecks were located chiefly in the exter-nal layers of the retina but some could be ob-served in front of the main retinal veins.
