I．緒言

　一次性網膜色素変性（以下色素変性と略す）のERGが，およそ消失型であるというKarpe^1）以来の見解は，ERGに関する測定装置の進歩発達，測定技術の改善向上などが著しく発達した今日，すでに否定されたといつても過言ではない。

　しかし，Armington^2）以後，数多く報告^3）〜16）された，なんらかの形のresponseをもつ本症のERGにしても，そのタイプはかなりまちまちであり，しかも，それらのタイプが，色素変性のいかなる病期あるいは病態の反映であるか，また，これらのERG responseは，どのような変化をもつて推移するのか，などの臨床的経過ないし意義についての解明はあまりなされていない。

Clinical and clectroretinographical follow-up was conducted in 5 cases with primary pigment degeneration of the retina for periods ranging from 3 to 7 years. The 5 cases consisted of 4(7 eyes) in whom visual acuity and peripheral visual field were well retained with merely subnormal ERG and another one (1 eye)in whom clinical features were moderately advanced with negative ERG response.

1. One case showed gradual constriction of peripheral visual field and the other an enlarge-ment of ring-shaped scotoma during the five years of observation.
