Hemagglutination Test for Toxoplasma Antibodies in Several Diseases of Eye

I．緒言

　トキソプラスモージスの診断は必ずしも容易でなく，否，特に後天性トキソプラスモージスでは，急性の全身症状をあらわす場合以外は困難である。それは本症には不顕性感染が多いとされているうえに，炎症眼のバイオプシーができないことは病原虫の分離を殆ど不可能にしているからである。

　Sabin and Feldman^8）（1948）のmethylenblue dye testが本症の診断に有力な手段として用いられて以来，その研究はピッチを上げて来た。しかし最近はこれと同様の価値を有する赤血球凝集反応（以下HA testと略す）が一般に採用されている。

Sera were taken from 6 cases in congenital abnormalities, 14 cases in uveitis, 24 cases in central retinochoroiditis, 36 cases in macular degeneration which w ere supposedly related to Toxoplasmosis and 16 cases in healthy per-sons as control. 95 cases in total were exa-mined for Toxoplasma antibodies by a hemag-glutination test using Lewis and Kessel's me-thod. The antibody titer of 1 : 512 or higher was considered as positive on the basis of its correlation with dye test.

The results were following :

1. A girl, 7 years old in the group of con-genital abnormalities was detected as typical congenital Toxoplasmosis.
