トキソプラスマによるbrawny scleritisの1症例について

A Case of Brawny Scleritis Caused by Toxoplasma Gondii

I．まえがき

　Schlodtmann^1）の命名によるSultzige Scleritisは予後の不良な強膜炎としてしられ，わが国では膠様強膜炎とよばれているが，欧米ではその形状からbrawny sc—leritisとして記載されているようである。しかしブドウ膜炎をともない両眼に発生するこのbrawny scleritisについて詳細に報告したもの，とくに病理組織学的に詳しく記載したものはわが国では皆無である。このbrawnyscleritisは原困がいまだ不明であり，そのため結核，梅毒，膠原病などとの関係がとりあげているが，今回われわれはトキソプラスマによると考えられる非常にまれな症例に遭遇し，本症の原因に一つの光明を与えたものと思うので，ここに報告する。

An unusual occurrence of brawny scleritis with endophthalmitis caused by toxoplasma gon-dii in both eyes of a 45-year-old female is re-ported.

The right eye became phthitic and had to be enucleated following a prolonged course of bra-wny (gelatinous) scleritis and fibrinous iritis. The histopathological examination of the enu-cleated specimen strongly suggested reticulo-sarcoma but finally proved to be toxoplasmic endophthalmitis after confirmation of cysts of toxoplasma.
