アメリカにおけるPhotocoagulation，特にLaserphotocoagulatorの現状について

The present status of Photocoagulation and Laser photocoagulator in the United States

I．はじめに

　Photocoagulatorについては，今まで種々の報告^1）がある。特にXenon-Arcを使用したCoagulatorについては，我が国に於いても試作が行なわれている。残念なことには，ZeissのPhotocoagulatorは非常に高価であり，また装置自身も大がかりであることから，我が国では仲々普及しない現状である。

　さて，最近開発されたLasercoagulatorは本年に入つてその実用化のきざしが見え，既に我が国でも試作されてはいるが，特にアメリカでは，臨床的応用が始まつている。今回は，Xenoncoa—gulatorの使用上の注意並びにLasercoagula—torの発展の現状について述べたい。

A description is given over the present sta-tus of use of xenon and laser coagulators in the United States with critical evaluations of the both. A view is presented as conclusion that, while basic principles and experimental data are in favour of laser coagulator, its performance has yet to be confirmed by ge-neral use in the future. More than one year will have to pass before its clinical applica-tion in a wider scale can set in.
