糖尿病性びまん性黄斑浮腫に対するgrid pattern photocoagulation

Grid-pattern photocoagulation for diabetic diffuse macular edema

　びまん性糖尿病性黄斑浮腫に対し，格子状光凝固grid pattern photocoagulationを施行した．35眼の内22眼で浮腫の軽減または消退を認め，5眼で0.1以上の視力の改善を認めたが，22眼で不変，8眼で視力低下を認めた．中心暗点等合併症は1例もなかった．この凝固方法はその実施時期，有効例，無効例の選択等，なお検討すべき問題点が多いと考えられる．

We treated a series of 35 diabetic eyes with diffuse macular edema by applying grid-pattern photocoagulation using krypton red laser. The con-dition occurred as spontaneous diabetic maculopathy in 18 eyes and following panretinal photocoagulation in 17 eyes.

After the treatment, 20 eyes (57%) showed im-provements in the intensity of macular edema. Improvement in visual acuity by one line or more resulted in 5 eyes (14%) only. The course of visual acuity remained the same or became worse in the other 30 eyes. The present mode of photocoagula-tion was free of adverse ill effects.
