近年増加しつつある耐性ブドー球菌（以下ブ菌）感染症の対策として，新しい抗生剤の出現が期待されている一方，2種の抗生剤の組合せによつて抗菌スペクトルの拡大，抗菌力の増強を計ると共に，耐性阻止を目的とする合剤が多数登場している。
Kanacillin （以下KC）はKMとPCの合剤でその1バイアル中にKM 500mg, ProcainPCG 30万単位，PC-G 10万単位を含む筋注用製剤である。
Kanacillin is a combined drug of Kanamy-cin (KM) and Penicillin (PC). This paper deals with bacteriological and clinical inves-tigations of this drug for the purpose of ophthalmic use. The summerized results wereas follows.
1) The minimum growth inhibitory concen-tration of KM and PC against organisms common in ocular infections were examined, and wider antibacterial spectrum was expe-cted by the combination of the two.
2) A method to investigate the combined action with ready made sensitivity disc of KM and PC was described.
Synergic activities were observed in some species of organisms concerning ocular infe-ction.
