要約 目的：眼窩底骨折の受傷機転と年齢分布の報告。対象と方法：2006年までの3年間に治療した眼窩底骨折253症例を診療録の記述をもとに検索し，1986年と1999年の状況を発表した同様な報告と比較した。結果：10歳代と20歳代の症例が56％を占め，65歳以上の症例は5％であった。以前の報告よりも成人の受傷が飛躍的に増加し，全年齢を通じてスポーツによる受傷が増えた。子供では不慮の事故，大人では交通事故による受傷が減少した。結論：眼窩底骨折の原因は変化している。かつては子供に多いと思われていた眼窩底骨折は，最近では大人の疾患になった。
Abstract. Purpose：To report the recent trend in the causes and age distribution of blowout fracture of the orbital floor. Cases and Method：This retrospective study was made on 253 cases treated for blowout fracture of orbital floor during 3 years through 2006. Findings were compared with similar reports made in 1986 and 1999. Results：Patients in the second and third decade amounted to 56％ in the present series. Those over 65 years of age amounted to 5％. There was a remarkable increase in the number of adults when compared with previous reports. Sports activities became more frequent throughout the age groups. Accidental trauma became less frequent among children and traffic accident decreased among adults. Conclusion：Causes of orbital blowout fracture have changed in recent years. Orbital fracture is becoming more frequent in adults rather than in children.
