STUDIES ON THE MEANNING OF THE MASS TREATMENT BY CHLORPROMAZINE

I．緒　言

　1952年にHamon．Delay等がChlorproma-zineを精神神経疾患に用いて，その効果が発表されてこのかた，精神科領域に於ける薬物療法の発展は真に目ざましいものがある。

　しかし，多数の既成薬剤の使用方法について未だ充分に検討し尽されたとは考えられない。精神科薬物療法の先駆をなしたChlorpromazineについても同様のことが云えよう。

Five cases of catatonic excitment, including three chronic ones on which no preceeding therapies had had any effects at all, were treated by chlorpromazine medication of such high daily doses as 600~900 mg. The results were quite remarkable. In four cases increscent-decrescent dosage was availed, but in a case the sudden interruption of medica-tion seemed to be markedly efficient, and the signification of this fact was discussed in psychopharmacological aspects. Although no considerable side effects were found even by scrutinized biological examinations in ge-neral, the combined administration with re-serpin was proved to be advisable, because it reduced them more decisively.

Through above experiences, the authors tried to evaluate this therapeutic method, criticizing the thoughtless customary dosage of this medicine.
