　1882年レツクリングハウゼンは，皮膚の多発性線維腫及び色素斑を主微とせる疾患につぎ病理組織学的検索を行い，本腫瘍は先にウイルビヨウの記載せる仮性神経腫と同一で，神経内外鞘結合織の腫瘍性増殖であると断定した。

　以来本症をレツクリングハウゼン氏病と呼んでいるが，本症の臨床的な報告はレツクリングハウゼンより古く，1793年ルードイツヒ及びティレデイウスにより記載されている。

A 21 year old woman with deformities of her both feet, was diagnosed as a complete type of von Recklinghausen's disease. Mye-lography revealed the existence of tumors in the lumbar canal, and at surgery (laminectomy) multiple tumors of the cauda equina were found. The deformities of her both feet were considered as a consequence of paresis caused by the tumors.

Pathological examination of the tumors which had been removed from both the cauda equina and skin revealed to be neurofibroma.

Among the reports about von Recklinghau-sen's disease in Japan, there are few authors describing the neurological findings such as bladder and rectal disturbance etc.

If myelography could have been performed on such cases, witn neurological abnormality it might have been possible to discover tu-mors of spine in the cases of von Reckling-hausen's disease.

This representative case may be a good example.
