　PTCA前後の冠動脈狭窄度の改善をdensitometry法（D法）とedge detection法（E法）により定量評価し，肉眼所見と対比した．高度狭窄を有するPTCA前では，肉眼所見はD法またはE法による面積狭窄度とよく一致した．中等度—軽度狭窄を有するPTCA後では，肉眼所見はD法またはE法による内径狭窄度と一致する傾向を認めた．D法とE法の比較では，PTCA前は両法の計測結果は一致したが，PTCA直後では両法の計測結果に解離を生じる症例が多かった．以上より，肉眼判定はPTCA前後で判定の尺度が異なることが示された．またD法とE法の測定原理から，両法の解離の原因はPTCA直後では狭窄病変が不均一に拡張された結果，狭窄血管の非対称性が増している可能性が示唆された．したがってPTCA前後を通じて狭窄度を定量的に評価するにはD法が最も適しているものと考えられた．

Coronary arteriogram of 34 patients who underwent percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) were evaluated visually and by computer-assisted analysis, that employed an edge detection method and cinevideodensitometry. The results of visual estimation were in general agreement with those of computer-assisted analysis for determination of per-cent area of stenosis in severe stenosis, and percent diameter of stenosis in slightly stenotic lesions. Before PTCA, the findings obtained by densitometry agreed with those using the edge detection method.
