要旨　従来，大腸ESDに対して使用する高周波ナイフは，使用方法や形態から先端系ナイフ，IT系ナイフに分類されてきたが，現在ではさらに，安全性を追求したナイフや処置困難な部位の切除に特化したナイフなど様々な処置具が開発されている．術者は，それらのナイフを使い分けることでより安全なESDを行うことができるようになっているが，そのためにはそれぞれのナイフの特徴を理解し，そのナイフに適した状況で使用することが重要である．

　Traditionally, the high-frequency knives used for ESD（endoscopic submucosal dissection）of colorectal neoplasms have been classified as tip knives or insulation-tipped diathermic knives based on the method of use and shape. However, various tools have now been developed, including knives specifically for areas in which it is difficult to work or knives with increased safety. The operator is able to perform the ESD procedure more safely by utilizing different types of knives. However, their use requires an adequate understanding of the properties of each knife to allow their application under appropriate conditions.
