Surgical treatments for thyroid diseases require skin incisions that may cause prominent scars, complaints as a result of adhesion, hypesthesia and paresthesia in the neck. We have been performing endoscopic neck sur-gery by an anterior chest approach and an axillary approach. In the anterior chest approach, the wounds on the anterior chest under the clavicles are completely hidden even by clothes with a wide open neck. In the axillary approach, the small scar left in the axilla is completely covered by the patient's arm, in its natural position.
