A case of the inner ear damage resulting in a complete recovery of hearing loss after 7 months following the traumatic accidents was reported.

A 53-year-old woman, complaining of vertigo and hearing loss on her right ear, visited our clinic. She had an episode that a needle of acupuncture was accidentally introduced into her right external car canal. Immediately after the accident, she developed sever pain of the ear, bleeding, hearing loss and vertigo. Since hearing loss and vertigo were continued in spite of medical treatment, the patient visited to our clinic 7 months after the accident.

Examination showed a sever sensorineural hearing loss of the right ear and positive fistula symptom without abnormal vestibular function. The ear drum appeared almost normally with a small scar formation in the posterior inferior quadrant.

After complete bed rest without medical treatment, her hearing loss and vertigo were gradually improved.
