  • Look Inside

A long-term (5 year) survey of occupational deafness was conducted in order to determine to what extent the deafnss may take its turn of progress. It was revealed that deafness due to occupational noise becomes established relatively early in the course of its progress, probably 6th to 10th year of the exposure, and forms a fixed pattern of hearing loss. The loss thereafter generally makes a progress with a gradual increase which may be relegated to that of the changing age. When this age-loss is considered separately the original loss caused by the occupational noise appear to make no progress.
