蝶形骨洞症候群（Sphenoidal Sinus Syndrome）を呈しためまい症例

A CASE OF VERTIGO REVEALING SIGNS OF SPHE-NOIDAL SINUS SYNDROME

　Ⅰ．緒言

　めまいを主訴とする疾患はきわめて多いが，耳鼻科領域に限っても，一般に鼻疾患ことに慢性副鼻腔炎に伴うめまいはよく知られていないために，不適当な治療を加えられて患者の苦痛を緩解し得ないことがある。わたくしはとくに炎症性変化の少ないといわれる蝶形骨洞に限局した炎症のために，重篤なめまい，歩行障害，両側耳鳴，後頭部痛を主訴として来院，これが文献上OaksおよびMerrill^1）が1930年に発表している蝶形骨洞症候群Sphenoidal Sinus Syndromeなることを確め得た興味ある症例を経験した。

The author describes symptoms of sphenoi-dal sinus syndrome causing vertigo, tinnitus aurium, impaired hearing and occipital hea-dache. The mechanism of these symptoms, the author holds, is the result of irritation of the pterygoid nerve due to sphenoidal sinu-sitis. However, he emphasizes the necessity of establishing the diagnosis of this condition and not confuse this with other affections showing similar symptoms.
