副鼻腔炎に対するα-Chymotripsinの使用経験

AN EXPERIENCE IN THE USE OF γ-CHYMOTRYP-SIN IN TREATMENT OF PARANASAL SINUSITIS

　Ⅰ．はじめに

　近年における酵素学的研究はますます盛んとなり，その結果，これを実際に臨床上に応用しうるまでになつた。その一つに蛋白分解酵素がある。α-chymotripsinは哺乳動物の膵臓から分泌される蛋白分解酵素で従来は臨床的には消化酵素として用いられていたが，1956年ヨーロッパの医学者たちによつて関節炎，関節周囲炎に有効なことが発見されて以来，にわかに脚光を浴びてきた。耳鼻咽喉科領域においてもその使用経験が散見されるようになつた。

　われわれは外来，ならびに入院せる副鼻腔炎患者に使用してみたのでその経験を報告する次第である。

　For treatment of sinusitis α-chymotrypsin was administered both, through the mouth and by means of local instillations. The use of this agent in this way did not produce any adverse efflect on the blood protein nor on the liver and Kidney functions. Proetz's method was employed in administering the agent locally in to the sinuses and where direct instillation was possible as in the maxillary sinuses the agent was introduced through a needle puncture. It was effective in 70% of cases.
