  • Look Inside

The functional activity of the autonomic nerves in perepheral diseases of the vestibular organ was studied by means of observing the reaction of the phenomenon of spotted decrease in electrical dermal resistance, the mecholyl and Schellong tests. The mecholyl test had a tendency to bring out the type P reaction (sypathetic hyporeactor), which was particularly prominent in cases of Menierre's disease. In the Schellong's test there is a tendency in which vegetative lability would be shown a reaction which was also prevalent in cases of Meniere's disease. The spotted decrease in electrical dermal resistance showed remarkable laterality on the shoulder and nuchea, especially in cases of menier's disease and sudden deafness.
