Observations are made on 11 cases of chronic sinusitis who came to authors' attention during the recent few months requiring re-operation. Common complaint among the patients was profuse nasal discharge. In most cases re-infection occurred 2-3 years after the initial operation; in cases who were re-operated previously the re-infection mostly occurred in the 5 th postoperative year.

Nasal examination showed deviated septum with the deviation occurring mostly in the upper portion in majority of caces; this was followed in number by inferior turbinate hypertrophy and in 5 cases edematous chan-ges were seen in the middle turbinates. The sinus cavities were isolated and the darinage from them were highly disturbed.

Following sinus operations performed in the usual may in which the mucous memb-rane may he completely removed at the time the drainage pathway soon be obstructed by postoperative healing to cause re-infection and call for the necessity of reoperation. In order to avoid such postoperative disturbance of drainage the authors' emphasize the nece-ssity of using sinoplastic operation.
