副鼻腔炎根本手術と視力との関係について

THE RELATION OF VISION TO THE RADICAL SINUS OPERATION

Ⅰ．緒言

　1886年，Berger, Tyrmannにより蝶形洞疾患と視神経との関係を指摘され，さらに1905年Onodiにより炎症波及説が唱えられてより副鼻腔と視器との関係が注目され，本邦でも，増田（1927），山本（1952），武田（1952），西川（1955），今井（1958），長野（1965）らの報告がある。近時われわれは，副鼻腔炎根本手術と視力との関係を調査したので報告する。

　The effect of radical sinus operation relative to changes that may be brouht on to the existing vision was studied. In 29 cases of radical sinus operation, visionary improvement was seen in 15 cases while, in 14 others the vision in fact became poorer. In the casesthat showed improvement, the sinuses proved to be involved with edematous inflammation while those that showed visionary worsening showed sphenoid sinus involvement with accumulation of pus.
