　I．緒言

　1934年Reillyの自律神経攪乱学説と，1938年SelyeのStress学説の出現により，わが科領域においても，自律神経失調により惹起される疾患として，鼻科領域においては，血管神経性鼻炎，アレルギー性鼻炎，アレルギー性副鼻腔炎，萎縮性鼻炎，鼻出血，鼻性眩暈あるいは性器に現われる鼻性反射神経症などが挙げられるに至つた。

　われわれは鼻，副鼻腔炎研究の一端として，今回ここに鼻，副鼻腔炎患者で手術適応の者がどのような自律神経機能を有するものかとの考えから42症例について検索を行ない，次の結果を得たので報告する。

　A functional test of autonomic nerves as far as latter influencing the nasal mucous membrane was conducted on 42 patients who were operated upon for chronic sinusitis. The test was begun on the 3rd postoperative day by subcutaneous administration of adrenalin, atropin and pilocarpin correspondingly each on succeeding days. Autonomic nervous system ANS instability was shown in 71.4% of cases. The results thus obtained were classified in accordance to the method advanced by Uyeda. Majority of cases belonged to type Ⅲ instability in which there was the least mucous membrane changes. ANS stability changed on different days. The authors conclude that most of nasal disturbances are caused by this change in the ANS stability and in the treatment this fact should he borne foremost in the thought.
