 New anesthetic drug "Osmocaine" or hexylcaine was administered on 76 patient who were recieved minor operations of the nose and throat. Among these tonsillectomy was 31 cases. While 21 cases were operated under infiltration anesthesia utilizing 0.5% osmocaine, 10 cases with 1%. Dosis of solution was 15cc and 20cc respectively. The operations were perforemed without any pain excepting 2 cases using 0.5% solution, who complained slight pain and horseness.

 Deviatomy of 9 cases and conchotomy of 7 cases were performed with no complications under local anesthesia with 0.5% osmocaine. Polyps on the vocal cord was removed with indirect laryngoscopic technique under surface anesthesia with 5% osmocaine in 7 cases. The anesthetic effect of the drug were sufficient for supression of the laryngeal reflex.

 Maxillotomy of 7cases were performed under infiltration anesthesia with 20cc of 0.5% solution and the patients complained no pain. The drum membrane was anesthetized completely in 26 cases for the myringotomy and the simple puncture with the solution prepared as follows: 5% osmocaine 0.4cc, menthol 2.0cc, carbol 2.0 cc and alcohol 2.0 cc.
