慢性中耳炎に対するAchromycinの局所的応用

　Penicillinを始め各種抗生物質の慢性中耳炎に対する局所的応用の成績は屡々報告され，比較的良好な結果が得られている。さて1953年Boothe等によりChlortetracyclin（Aureomycin）から誘導された新抗生物質であるTetracyclin（Achromycin－以下ACMと記す）はChlortetracyclinと同様な広範囲に亙る抗菌スペクトルをもつ上に副作用が少なく，溶解度が大で且安定性であること等が後者より優れていると云われている。そこで私共はレダリー会社よりACMの結晶の提供を受けて之を使用する機会を得たので，慢性化膿性中耳炎患者について局所的に使用して見た。

　Goto and Matsuzaki report that, in their hands, topical use of achromycin in treatment of chronic otitis media brought cure to 68% cases; that sensitivity test for the causative bacteria is an important step in the procedure. Achromycin is more soluble than, either, aureomycin or terramycin; its pH value is more stable and liability to deterioration is far less. Better results in treatment of chronic otitis media may be expected by use this agent over and above the use of other known antibiotics.
