DAITO and HIRANO State that, clinically, there are manifold uses to which Neo-Synephrine Hydrochloride (Neo-Synesin Kowa) may be applied. It is an agent whose properties parallel with those of both, ephedrine and epinephrine hydrochlorides insofar as its parasympathomimetic action is concerned yet, more stable and less toxic when compared with the latter. As a therapeutic adjunct Neo-Synephrine Hydrochloride has shown favorable results by use in rhinitis of children and infants, chronic nasopharyngitis, common colds, both,in the acute and the chronic low grade sinusitis and for local instillations followsinus operations. Its use is without fear of side effects or of addictions ; because of its property inducing vasoconstriction markedly well the drug may be used in conjunction with other agents employed for local anesthesia specifically, to replace epinephrine hydrochloride which is, now, commonly used but, not altogether without toxicity. The authors are in expectancy to see further reports by other workers on this subject.
