  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

First case was a 45-year-old-woman who had renal cell carcinoma originated from acquired cystic disease of the kidney. The duration of hemodialysis was about 4.6 years before surgical operation.

The removed left kidney was 244 g in weight and numerous cysts up to 3 cm diameter were noted both in the cortex and medulla of the kidney. Those cysts were lined with cuboidal cells and papillary adenoma and solid adenoma arose from the lining epitherium of the cysts. Adjacent to the cyst of 3 cm diameter in the lower pole of the kidney, adenocarcinoma was found.
