  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Thigh adductor contraction during transurethral resection of bladder tumors at the inferolateral bladder wall is considered to be produced by the stimulation of the obturator nerve. Although this complication is not uncommon problem little has been reported on its management. Spinal or epidural anesthesia combined with local obturator nerve blockade was performed and was successful in the pre-vention of thigh adductor contraction during transurethral operation. As a result we could reduce the incidence of this complication from 22.2% to 3.9%.
