A 68-year-old male came to Saiseikai Utsunomiya Hospital with complaints of urinary retention and lumbago. Prostate was palpated hard and walnut in size. Bone X-ray showed osteoblastic metastases remarkably in all bones, although 99mTc-diphosphonate bone scan revealed negative finding. The histological examination showed well differentiated adenocarcinoma. He was diagnosed as stage D prostatic cancer.
He underwent bilateral orchiectomy and had estrogen therapy. He is well two years postoperatively.
