  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

A 37 year old man, with obesity starting at the age of 31, first noticed pitting edema on the legs at the age of 33 and his mental state became nervous. These symptoms advanced insidiously, and disseminated subcutaneous hemorrhage appeared at the age of 36.

He was admitted to the First Department of Internal Medicine in June 1972 and was diagnosed as having Cushing's syndrome clue to adrenocortical adenoma associated with chronic hepatitis and protein losing gastro-enteropathy.
