  • Look Inside

A case with sever vesicovaginal fistula who underwent surgery for Seiffert's intestinal syphon bladder in 1937 by Ichikawa, recently died of ovarial cancer after surviving 35 years with good renal function. This is considered to be the longest surviving case in Japan who underwent urinary diversion utilizing an isolated ileal segment. The histological findings of the utilized ileal segment showed no villi, Lieb-erkuhn's follicle was poorly developed and no goblet cell was noticed in the glandular cells.
