急性咽頭側索炎に続発した成人の咽後膿瘍症例

Retropharyngeal Abscess Secondary to Acute Purulent Lateral Pharyngitis in an Adult:Report of a Case

　はじめに

　咽後膿瘍は咽頭後間隙に膿汁の貯留する病態であるが，近年では抗生剤の発達により耳鼻咽喉科の日常臨床の場で遭遇することは比較的少なくなっている。

　今回われわれは，急性化膿性咽頭側索炎に続発した成人の咽後膿瘍症例を経験したので，若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

A 34-year-old female was admitted to our hospital with pyrexia, sore throat and difficulty swallowing.Examination revealed a marked swelling of the posterior wall of the oropharynx in the left side and an inflamma-tory swelling of the lateral fold with pus on the same side. Lateral cervical spine x-rays showed a soft tissue swelling. CT scan confirmed the presense of a retropha-ryngeal abscess. There was no clinical or radiological evidence of tuberculosis. Drainage was performed under general anesthesia on the day of admission. Over the fol-lowing days her symptoms and signs gradually resolved and she was discharged ten days after her admission.
