ドクターヘリ搬送によって救命しえた小児咽後膿瘍の1例

A case of retropharyngeal abscess in children rescued by doctor helicopter transfer

はじめに

　われわれ耳鼻咽喉科において，咽後膿瘍は頭頸部領域の重症感染症の1つである。特に，小児期では咽後間隙に存在するリンパ節が急性咽頭炎や扁桃炎などの炎症を契機に感染して発症するといわれ，男児での発生頻度が高く，成長とともに減少する。本疾患では，稀に気道確保を目的とした気管内挿管や気管切開などの処置が行われるが，離島医療ではこのような外科的治療が困難であり，島外への搬送を余儀なくされることもある。

　今回，ドクターヘリ搬送によって救命しえた小児の咽後膿瘍の1例を経験したので報告する。

　Retropharyngeal abscess is one of the most important deep neck infection in childhood. The frequency of occurrence increases in children. The disorder sometimes demands tracheal intubation or tracheotomy. However, it is sometime difficult to treat the children in isolated islands. We report a case of retropharyngeal abscess in a child rescued by doctor helicopter transfer.
