A case of Foresteir's desease(ankylosing spinal hyperostosis) with severe dysphagia and slight dyspnea in a 77-year-old female was reported. The patient complained of a difficulty swallowing and hoarseness for long. Radiogram of the cervical spine from C4 to C6 showed excessive anterior cervical osteophyte. Video-fluorography and laryngoscopic examinations revealed that the posterior wall of the esophageal orifice showed a swelling and laryngeal leukoderma. Because she refused osteotomy for the anterior cervical osteophyte, we performed tracheotomy and gastrostomy. Foresteir's desease may sometimes lead to dysphagia and dyspnea and it is important to distinguish this disease from other diseases.
