  • Look Inside

A 45-year-old female presented with blurring of vision in the right eye of two days' duration. Her corrected visual acuity was 0.04 right and 1.5 left. The right eye showed hyperemia and swelling of the optic disc, retinal edema extending from the disc to the macula and yellow patches in the posterior fundus. Macular stars appeared 10 days later, leading to the diagnosis of stellate neuroretinitis of Leber. Disc swelling and macular edema disappeared 4 months later. The stellate macular lesion disappeared 10 months after onset. This case illustrates that macular stars may develop and disappear later macular edema in this disease entity.
