We evaluated the correlation between focal visual acuity and retinal sensitivity in 10 eyes with branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) . We used a scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO) visumetry and microperimetry. The focal visual acuity was very low in eyes with BRVO of recent onset. It was variable in eyes with BRVO of longer duration, implying that the focal visual acuity may change with passage of time. In some eyes, focal visual acuity was much lower than the value expected from microperimetric findings. SLO visumetry promises to be of value in evaluating the focal function of the retina.
