フレキシブルディスク型眼内レンズの試作

A prototype of flexible disc intraocular lens

　今回筆者らは，closed loopの支持部をもつ新しいディスク型眼内レンズを開発した。PMMAのsingle pieceレンズであり，直径5mmのbiconvexのレンズ部と外径10.5〜11.5mmの外周支持部は，3本の支持腕部で連結されている。ディスク型眼内レンズの支持部の切断面は楕円形で0.12×0.16mmと細いために，flexibilityをもつ特性がある。このディスク型眼内レンズの物性試験および動物眼への挿入試験では，7mmの強角膜輪部切開創，6mmのcontinuous circular capsulohexis （CCC）から水晶体嚢にレンズの挿入が可能であった。このディスク型眼内レンズは豚死体眼では水晶体嚢内の固定状態が良好であり，家兎に移植した場合では，レンズ偏位や水晶体嚢およびチン小帯に損傷はみられなかった。

We developed a prototype of flexible disc intraocular lens with closed circular haptics. The lens is of single-piece construction. It has a 5mm PMMA optic and a 10.5~11.5mm outer ring connected to the optic with three inner arms. The thin, 0.12mm×0.16mm elliptic cross section of the outer ring and the inner arms give good flexibility to the disc lens. It enables an easy insertion through a 6.5~7.0mm corneoscleral incision and fixation in the bag through a 6 mm capsulorhexis opening. The state of lens fixation in pig cadaver eyes was stable and well-centered. The lens implanted in live rabbit eyes showed no tilting or decentration and did not cause rupture of the capsular bag or the lens zonules.
