白内障手術後,素材とデザインの異なる2種の後房レンズを挿入し,continuous circularcapsulorhexis (CCC)を用いて作成した前嚢切開窓の面積と前嚢混濁の術後変化を経時的に観察した。術後,前嚢切開窓面積は減少していったが,前嚢切開窓径長と切開窓面積の経時変化に,後房レンズによる差はなかった。しかし,シリコーンレンズ挿入眼の前嚢切開窓は,レンズ長軸方向にその長径を一致した楕円形に変化してゆく傾向を認めた。前嚢混濁は後房レンズの種類によらず経時的に増強するが,6週目以降,polymethylmeth—acrylate (PMMA)レンズに比べシリコーンレンズ挿入眼に有意に強い前嚢混濁を認めた。
We evaluated the changes of anterior capsular opacity and opening area up to 10 weeks after cataract surgery with intraocular lens (IOL) im-plantation in 36 eyes. We employed continuous circular capsulorhexis and phacoemulsification.Three-piece polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) IOLs were inserted in 23 eves and single-piece silicone IOLs in 13 eyes. Opacity of anterior capsule was classisfied into 4 grades: none, mild, moderate,severe. The area of anterior capsule opening was measured photographically under full mydriasis.The opacity of anterior capsule gradually increased after surgery. After 6 weeks, it was more pro-nounced in eyes with silicone IOLs than PMMA.The area of anterior capsular opening decreased after surgery. There was no difference between silicone and PMMA IOLs. The shape of the opening turned into an oval one in eyes with silicone IOLs along its axis.
