両眼性後部強膜炎の小児例

Bilateral posterior scleritis in a child

　感冒様症状，左眼痛および球結膜充血にて発症し，眼球突出，視神経乳頭の発赤浮腫および網脈絡膜皺襞を認め，両眼性の後部強膜炎と考えられた10歳男児の1例について報告した。Computerized tomography （CT），Magnetic reso-nance imaging （MRI）および超音波検査では後部強膜の肥厚を示し，診断にきわめて有用であった。ステロイド治療に対する反応は良好で，強膜の肥厚の減少および他の症状の改善をみた。著者らの調べた限り本邦では55例の後部強膜炎が報告されているが，その中で15歳以下の小児発症例は4例のみであり，本症例は最も若年での発症であった。

A 10-year-old boy was referred to us due to left ocular pain and conjunctival injection. He had a history of common cold one month before. He was diagnosed as bilateral posterior scleritis on account of findings by B-mode scan ultrasonography,computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Systemic corticosteroid led to improve-mnents in clinical features. We could identify a total of 55 cases of posterior scleritis reported in Japan. There were only 4 cases under 15 years of age. The present case is the youngest reported hitherto.
