（展示259）　9歳の女児が，左側頭痛，左眼痛と急激な左眼視力低下を訴えた。左眼底後極に滲出性網膜剥離を生じ，螢光眼底造影で網膜色素上皮からの螢光漏出点が多発していた。CT検査で左眼後部強膜の肥厚と左上顎洞粘膜の炎症性肥厚がみられた。副腎皮質ステロイド薬と抗菌薬の全身投与で両者とも軽快治癒した。急性副鼻腔炎が後部強膜炎発症の原因になった例である。

A 9-year-old girl presented with acute loss of vision in the left eye, ipsilateral ocular pain and headache. Funduscopy showed exudative retinal detachment in the posterior fundus area in the affect eye. Fluorescein angiography showed numerous points of dye leakage from the retinal pigment epithelium. Computed tomography showed thickening of the posterior sclera in the left eye and inflammatory thickening of the mucous membrane in the left maxillary sinus. Systemic treatments with corticosteroid and antibiotics led to cure of both conditions. This case illustrates that acute sinusitis may trigger posterior scleritis.
