　老人性円板状黄斑変性症が疑われた56症例63眼に対し，ビデオ赤外螢光眼底造影（IA）と螢光眼底造影（FA）を行い，比較検討し，以下の結果を得た。

　脈絡膜新生血管の部位の検出率はFA 57％，IA68％であった。特に，IAは，高度な網膜下出血，色素上皮剥離を伴った症例の脈絡膜新生血管の部位の検出に有用であることが確認できた。

　FAで脈絡膜新生血管網が明瞭に認められた場合でも，IAで脈絡膜新生血管が確認できない場合や，脈絡膜新生血管の一部分しか造影されていない場合があった。

　以上の結果から現段階では，まず，FAを行い，脈絡膜新生血管の検出できない症例，特に，高度な網膜下出血，色素上皮剥離を伴った症例にはIAを行う必要があると考えた。

We examined 63 eyes with active age-related disciform macular degeneration (ARDMD) with conventional fluorescein angiography (FA) and indocyanine green videoangiography (IA). Regard-ing detection of choroidal neovascular membrane (CNM), IA was particularly useful in eyes withextensive subretinal hemorrhage or exudative detachment of retinal pigment epithelium. Some well-defined CNMs could be detected by FA but not sufficiently by IA. The findings lead to our proposal that FA be used as the initial diagnostic procedure in ARDMD, to be supplemented by IA when occult CNMs fail to be detected.
