We evaluated 30 patients of Behçet disease treat-ed by systemic cyclosporin for possible side effects. Elevation of creatine phosphokinase in the circulat-ing blood was present in 8 patients. The elevation was not dependent on the duration of cyclosporin administration. Three of the 30 patients complained of weight loss or muscle weakness. The creatine phosphokinase level in these 3 patients was vari-able. Biopsy of the femoral muscle in one of the 3 patients led to the diagnosis of toxic myopathy. This patient, a male of 46 years of age, had been under systemic cyclosporin therapy during the fore-going 25 months.
