We evaluated the long-term visual prognosis and post-operative complications following intraocular lens implantation in 84 eyes. The post-operative follow-up period ranged from 4 to 10 years.

1. Final visual acuity of 20/40 or better was achieved in 82% of the eyes. 2. Development of after-cataract was the commonest complication and was observed in 11 eyes (13%). The onset of after-cataract was generally late and the vision deteriorat-ed to less than 20/40 after 2 years or more following surgery. 3. The iris suture definitely reduced the incidence of dislocation of iris-supported lenses. 4.
