  • Look Inside

Twenty-five cases of esotropia were treated with systemic administration of prifinium bromide (Padrin®) in combination with topical application of distigmine bromide (Ubretid®). The dosage was 1 mg/kg/day for Padrin and 2 or 3 times instillation of 0.5-1.0% solution for Ubretid, and the treatment was continued for 8 weeks.

Of the 25 treated cases, esotropia disappeared in 4 cases only, which included 2 cases who had re-ceived recession of the medial rectus a few years earlier but still esotropia had remained. On clinical improvement was seen in the other 21 cases.
