Vision stimulatorによる弱視治療成績—健眼遮閉との比較

Relsults of a treatment for amblyopia with the vision stimulator.:Comparative study with conventional occlusion therapy

　vision stimulator （CAM®）の治療成績を通常の健眼遮閉によるものと比較検討して，次の結論を得た。

（1）視力改善量および得られる最終視力に関しては健眼遮閉の方がすぐれている。

（2）視力改善率に関しては，vision stimulatorが健眼遮閉の約2倍の速度をもつ。

　以上より，健眼遮閉が本器によってまったく置換えられることはないが，患児にかける負担の軽さ，視力改善の速さ等を考慮すれば，症例によっては有用な方法であると考える。

The CAM®, vision stimulator was developed and announced by Campbell and others in 1978. With this apparatus we treated twenty-six amblyopes and compared the results with those of conventional occlusion therapy which group included fifty-eight patients.

We calculated the following two values, the difference between initial and final visual acuities (D) and vision improvement rate per month (R), according to formulas (1) and (2) as shown below. These were used to estimate the results of the two methods.
