　Massine periretinal proliferation （M．P．P．）の14例に対し，　vitrectomy, membranepeeling, gas temponade, encirclingを行い，術後6ヵ月以上の経過観察を行った結果11例（79％）に網膜の復位が得られた。

　M．P．P．の他の手術力法，特にシリコン油注入法との比較を行ない，今後，M．P．P．の手術において望まれる諸点についてのべた。

We treated 14 eyes with severe massive periretinal proliferation by means of pars plans vitrectomy and removal of the preretinal membrane by peeling technique. The causes for the MPP were retinal detachment after repeated surgeries (8 eyes), vitrec-tomy (2) and idiopathic (4). The surgical techniquewas that developed by Machemer. After the cen-tral vitreous and the posterior vitreous membrane were removed by VISC X, the preretinal mem-branes were peeled off from the surface of the retina with a hooked needle. A scleral encircling or short-ening procedure was added. The vitreous cavity was filled with air or SF6 in some cases.
