保存的治療に成功した網膜芽細胞腫—液状198Auの使用経験

Preservation Treatment of Retinoblastoma

緒言

　網膜芽細胞腫は，眼科領域における小児の悪性腫瘍の中で最も頻度の高い致命的な疾患である。そのために従来より早期の眼球摘出が最も良い治療とされてきた。

　しかし，最近の悪性腫瘍に対する化学療法や放射線療法の進歩により，とくに眼科領域では光凝固術の開発にともない，網膜芽細胞腫においても眼球を保存する治療法が種々検討されてきている。

Three cases of retinoblastoma, successfully treated for preservation of the eyes, were re-ported. Two cases were bilateral and one was unilateral retinoblastoma.

In bilateral cases, the eye with larger tumor was enucleated and the fellow eye was treated preservately. One case with bilateral retino-blastoma was treated with episcleral implanta-tion of ¹⁹⁸Au and photocoagulation, combined with oral administration of Endoxan (Cyclop-hosphamide), and the tumor was destroyed. The other two cases were successfully treated with photocoagulation.
